Mr. Sinsung Lim is a partner patent attorney at LEE & MOCK IP. Since qualifying as a Korean patent attorney in 2016, he has provided comprehensive IP services across a broad range of technical fields, including telecommunications/ICT, AI/software/e-Commerce, semiconductors/displays, electrical/electronics, automotive/robotics/machinery, aerospace/shipbuilding, and healthcare/medical devices. His practice covers patent prosecution, prior-art search and analysis, FTO and infringement analysis, IP consulting, and inter partes proceedings.

For a global semiconductor company, Mr. Lim has handled patent matters across a wide range of cutting-edge technologies, including neural network algorithms, LiDAR sensors, camera image processing, and mobile healthcare devices based on hyperspectral image sensors.
For a global e-cigarette company, Mr. Lim manages comprehensive IP strategies covering the full lifecycle from product development to post-launch risk management. His work includes drafting patent specifications for key products, building barrier patent portfolios to preempt competitors from occupying technology gaps, designing competitive response portfolios based on the client’s own filings, conducting FTO and validity/invalidity analyses, filing third-party observations, and monitoring competitors’ patent activities. He also has substantial experience in patent landscape analysis across diverse technical fields, providing in-depth insights into technology and patent trends.
In addition, Mr. Lim has extensive dispute resolution experience. He has handled a broad range of domestic and international proceedings, including successful appeal proceedings in Korea against examiners’ rejections, offensive and defensive opposition proceedings before the EPO, and representation in Russian invalidation proceedings. He also has extensive experience in foreign patent prosecution, including IP5 filings as well as prosecution in Canada, Indonesia, the Philippines, Russia, Ukraine, Vietnam, and Taiwan.
