Mr. Kwanho Min serves an advisory patent attorney in the IP field of KAIST Foundation (Startup KAIST), where he advises technology start-ups on intellectual property, investment, and commercialization strategies. His work includes providing IP consulting to companies in start-up incubation centers, faculty-founded ventures, and student start-ups. He has also worked with accelerators (ACs) and venture capital (VC) firms, including the Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center and Infobank, to advise Deep Tech TIPS, TIPS, and Seed-TIPS start-ups on IP strategies and portfolio strategies.
Mr. Min has conducted customized consulting and IP strategies (offensive strategy/defensive strategy), patent portfolio establishment, and design around individual companies\' internal and external situations, such as the existence of risk patentees, etc., depending on the business stage, such as early/growth/maturity, market conditions such as growing markets, saturated markets, and volatility in market rankings, depending on the needs of individual companies, such as investor relations (IR) or initial public offering (IPO), depending on whether they possess technologies such as primary technology or enabling technology, depending on whether they are benchmarking, according to single technology products/convergence technology, depending on the market location of individual companies such as leading companies/followers/new market participants, etc.
Mr. Min has extensive experience handling patent matters across a broad range of technologies, including electrical and electronic engineering, artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, mobile devices, displays, batteries, optics, optical communications, smart factories and logistics, medical devices, and semiconductor manufacturing equipment. He has also advises start-up companies on patents relating to artificial intelligence (AI), the metaverse, blockchain, cloud gaming, smartwatches, and biotechnology, as well as business method (BM) inventions involving e-commerce, electronic charts, and healthcare consulting systems.
Mr. Min has significant experience in identifying patentable inventions and possesses both practical experience and academic knowledge in various technical fields required in the era of technological convergence. In addition, he has extensive practical experience in responding to domestic and international patent prosecution, including responding to Office Actions. In addition to application/examination-related work, he has provided startup IP mentoring, patent portfolio advice, patent strategy consulting/lectures, and domestic and foreign litigation advice, for various companies.
