Mr. Chul-Woong Park graduated from the Department of Chemical Engineering of Seoul National University with a bachelor’s degree and obtained a master’s degree in Chemical Engineering at the graduate school of the same university. He then went on to complete a doctoral course in Chemical Engineering at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology.

Thereafter, Mr. Park worked for many years at LG-Caltex Oil Corporation, accumulating industrial field experience in the fields of oil refining, petrochemicals, catalysts, processes, and environmental technology, and broadened his understanding of technology commercialization and new technology-based industries through his work at the venture company Townnet.

After passing the 40th Korean Patent Attorney Examination in 2003, Mr. Park joined LEE & MOCK IP in 2004, where he currently serves as a patent attorney and partner. His work encompasses the overall field of intellectual property rights, including patent and utility model applications, responses to Office Actions (OAs), review of claim scope, review of infringement, trials and litigation, preparation of foreign application documents and responses to overseas OAs, preparation of legal opinions, and preparation of patent maps.

In particular, Mr. Park has handled numerous application and rights-acquisition matters in the fields of materials, catalysts, chemical processes, environmental technology, wastewater/air/white smoke treatment technologies, energy-related technologies, computer program inventions, and various mechanisms. He also has practical patent experience regarding SMR reforming processes and reformer design technologies for hydrogen production, water electrolysis systems, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), electrolytes for secondary batteries, ePTFE materials, fiber-steel composite materials, chemical process modeling and simulation, and smart construction/automation technologies such as rebar assembly automation robots.

Mr. Park has strengths in accurately identifying complex technical issues and connecting them to effective claim scopes and dispute response logic, based on his deep understanding of industrial fields and expertise grounded in chemical engineering. In addition, based on his experience in handling numerous patent infringement injunction cases, patent trials, and litigation cases, he focuses on protecting his clients’ technologies with strong intellectual property rights and providing practical and strategic solutions in dispute situations.
