As a leading intellectual property expert in South Korea, Managing Patent Attorney Young-pil Lee brings over 40 years of expertise in global patent practice, technology commercialization, and corporate management. Throughout his distinguished career, he has successfully fostered and safeguarded his clients\\\' innovations as world-class intellectual property.

Having originally trained as an aeronautical engineer, Mr. Youngpil Lee qualified as a patent attorney in 1982 after recognizing the strategic importance of the patent system while working on global technology acquisition projects in the planning division of a major corporation. Since founding the firm (originally Lee Yong-Pil Patent & Law Firm, now LEE & MOCK IP) in 1985, he has successfully protected the intellectual property rights of numerous major Korean companies, drawing upon his experience in global IP disputes and technology transactions during the rapid growth of Korea’s semiconductor industry in the late 1980s, a period marked by complex, high-stakes patent disputes with foreign corporations.

In 1999, Mr. Lee founded Zalman Tech Co., Ltd. to commercialize advanced silent cooling technology, and the company went on to be successfully listed on KOSDAQ. For approximately 15 years, he oversaw the entire manufacturing commercialization cycle, from patent filings based on proprietary technologies to corporate management and global business operations. Through this experience, he developed a comprehensive business perspective and a deep understanding of the practical challenges faced across technology development, finance, manufacturing, and sales. In recognition of his contributions to both the intellectual property profession and the manufacturing industry, Mr. Lee received the Proud Engineering Alumni Award from Seoul National University in 2018, followed by the Republic of Korea’s Presidential Order of Industrial Service Merit (Iron Tower) in 2019.

With decisive leadership and extensive experience across electronics, mechanics, chemistry, and biotechnology, he continues to lead LEE & MOCK IP, one of Korea’s leading IP law firms, dedicated to securing and protecting their clients’ innovations as globally competitive intellectual property assets.
