Ms. Soomin Kim passed the Korean Patent Attorney Examination in 2018 and, since joining LEE & MOCK IP in 2024, has focused her practice on domestic and international patent prosecution across the breadth of electrical and electronic engineering, including software, UI/UX, AI, and telecommunications networks.
Notably, Ms. Kim possesses a broad technical spectrum spanning from semiconductor design practices to semiconductor devices and telecommunications technologies at national research institutes. Her extensive experience includes managing cross-border patent matters, successfully handling outbound applications for major domestic companies as well as inbound Korean patent prosecution for various global corporations, including global telecommunications companies as well as international semiconductor device manufacturers.
Currently, Ms. Kim manages general intellectual property matters, including drafting domestic and foreign patent applications, responding to Office Actions, and conducting patent analysis and portfolio establishment. She also provides strategic counseling tailored to the examination trends and legal systems of major jurisdictions, such as the US, Europe, and China. Utilizing her extensive technical background across the electrical and electronics sectors, she thoroughly analyzes the core distinctiveness of technologies and effectively secures patent rights, thereby strengthening clients\' technological competitiveness and acquiring robust intellectual property assets.
