Ms. Jiyeon Kim graduated from Ewha Womans University with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. Before joining LEE & MOCK IP, she worked at the Korea Institute of Patent Information (KIPI), where she reviewed English abstracts of Korean patent applications. She later joined Kim & Chang, where she gained extensive experience in patent prosecution and intellectual property matters in the chemical field.
Ms. Kim handles patent prosecution and Korean-to-English patent specification translation for foreign applicants in the fields of chemistry, materials science, and metallurgy. Her technical experience covers a broad range of technologies, including fine chemical synthesis, organic and inorganic chemistry, petrochemical processes, high-performance polymers, and pharmaceutical technologies.
Drawing on her background in both patent practice and technical translation, Ms. Kim analyzes complex technical disclosures and prepares accurate patent specifications and related documents for patent prosecution. She also assists Korean applicants with the preparation and translation of English patent specifications for overseas patent filings.
