Mr. Jae-woo Jang passed the 54th Korean Patent Attorney Examination in 2017 and currently practices as a patent attorney at LEE & MOCK IP where he handles a broad range of intellectual property matters in the mechanical field.
Mr. Jang’s practice covers both traditional manufacturing industries and advanced mechanical technologies, including mechanical engineering, machinery, materials, energy, and robotics. He has extensive experience across all stages of patent prosecution and examination, including domestic and foreign patent filings, Office Action responses, prior-art searches, and patentability reviews.
In particular, Mr. Jang has advised major Korean corporations as well as small- and medium-sized enterprises for many years, with a strong focus on identifying the core technical features of inventions and transforming them into effective patent rights from both technical and legal perspectives.
Mr. Jang has also participated in public-sector intellectual property projects in the fields of national defense and public safety, including IP lectures for the Korea Coast Guard and evaluation activities for the Public Safety Invention Challenge. In addition, he has taken part in various government-led IP-R&D projects, such as patent analysis projects in the field of semiconductor deposition equipment conducted by the Korea Intellectual Property Strategy Agency, RIPC patent map projects, IP Meister programs, and IP Didimdol programs. Through these experiences, he has developed strong advisory capabilities for designing IP strategies from the early stages of corporate technology development.
With a background in mechanical engineering and a deep understanding of technology, Mr. Jang helps transform inventors’ ideas into robust and commercially meaningful intellectual property rights.
