After passing the Korean Patent Attorney Examination in 2022, Mr. Dongjun Kim began practicing as a patent attorney at LEE & MOCK IP in 2023, where he covers a broad range of intellectual property matters, including domestic and international patent, utility model, and trademark prosecution, Office Action (OA) responses, registration procedures, and maintenance of intellectual property rights.

In particular, Mr. Kim has handled semiconductor-related matters for major global corporations, as well as intellectual property matters for various domestic companies. He possesses extensive experience across a wide range of semiconductor technologies, including DRAM, NAND Flash, HBM, CIS (CMOS Image Sensor), logic devices, semiconductor packaging, semiconductor processes, and manufacturing equipment. He has also been involved in drafting specifications and securing patent rights in advanced semiconductor technology fields such as semiconductor inspection and metrology technologies, optical proximity correction (OPC), process algorithms, wafer and package structures, photonics, and interposer technologies.

In addition, Mr. Kim has experience in patent prosecution and portfolio development in the fields of AI, software, platform and business model (BM) technologies, UI/UX, and service technologies. He has particular strengths in designing claim strategies that take into account both technical implementation structures and user experience considerations. Based on his understanding of various advanced industrial technologies, he supports clients in establishing tailored IP strategies that reflect both the technical characteristics of inventions and business objectives.

Mr. Kim also actively handles overseas patent prosecution and Office Action responses in major jurisdictions, including the United States, Europe, China, Japan, and Taiwan, and works closely with foreign associates to support clients in building global patent portfolios and securing international patent rights.

With an engineering-oriented understanding grounded in physics and a strong comprehension of semiconductor fabrication technologies, Mr. Kim has particular strengths in accurately identifying the technical essence of inventions and effectively translating them into patent protection strategies. In particular, he closely collaborates with inventors in complex technical fields such as semiconductor device structures, process technologies, inspection and metrology systems, and packaging structures, and prepares specifications and strategically drafts claims that faithfully reflect the technical features of inventions.
