Mr. Lee received a B.A. in German Language Education from Seoul National University in 1986 and an M.A. in the same field from Korea National University of Education in 1997. He received also a B.A. in Electronics from Soongsil University in 2002. Further, he obtained his Master of Laws degree(LL.M) from the Munich Intellectual Property Law Center organized by the Max Planck Institute in 2007.
He was admitted to Korean Patent Bar in 1997. Before joining this firm in 2002, he was associated with Park, Kim & Partners and Oori Patent and Law Office, and he was a partner at Tarappa Patent and Law Office. Prior to entering into the intellectual property field in 1998, he was employed by Kia Motors Company and worked as a high school teacher. He contributed as a director of planning to the Korean Patent Attorney Association (KPAA) and a director of international affairs to the Korean Trademark and Design Association (KOTA). Also, he has been a lecturer for IP law in Myongji University and for foreign trademark systems in International Intellectual Property Training Institute. He has been active as a board member of the AIPPI-Korea since 2012, and acted as a panel of the Korean Internet address Dispute Resolution Committee(IDRC) between 2016 and 2019 and a trademark policy advisor to the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) as well. Further, he has been involved in a wide range of activities on IP matters as a vice-president of the Korea Patent Attorney Association (KPAA) between 2018 and 2020, especially as a chairman of special committee for studying IP systems between South and North Korea.
